The train is tight, and the price will hike

The train is tight, and the price will hike.

Almost every human Filipino needs this.

This big metal thing that runs on electricity, fast like the buses in skyway which flies like an airplane and destroys the concretes of the most precious concrete of all.

This public transportation of which provides employees to travel fast and bring them to their destination safe.

This public transportation of which beats the traffic in the longest parking lot in the Philippines called EDSA.

Where even the infamous and famous rides this and becomes one with the people.

Where everyone is entitled to stand and tolerate the feeling that you feel like you are inside a can and smell the undried clothes of an another being, or even smell the armpits of their own race.

Thus it is called MRT. Every Filipino knows this.

I am one of the most common consumers of that fast and reliable train. No matter how many people goes inside i still ride this wheeled metal thing. Why? Because it is affordable and fast. Much cheaper than the bus. Much faster than the jeep. Much comfortable (sometimes, after rush hour) than a car.

Cheap... that is why people rides this thing. Why would you even ride a bus of which eats your time when you can ride the train of which saves you from being late?

The wonders of the affordability of the MRT is now deteriorating and even P'Noy can’t stop the price hike of this.

The cheapness is now gone, it’s like buying a diesel, so expensive that you need to get thrifty in a lot of things. Sometimes I wonder how will I even survive. With a salary that only covers my needs, and never my wants. With a salary that is so average that almost half of the Filipino population gets this amount of salary.

How will I even survive when every public transportation here in the Philippines will go up and never go down?

Because of this my 1 whole rice will become a half rice and my 8 siomais for my lunch will be replaced by 2 siomais just for my budget to fit.

Or maybe even buy a 1 whole rice and ask for a soup just to ease my hunger.

This shows only one Filipino saying:

"pag maigsi ang kumot, matutong mamaluktot."

Or

in English, when your blanket is short, learn how to curve.

Is that right? Now if you’ll excuse me I’ve got a train to catch.
